Shoreham Elementary School will remain closed until September 14 as the Addison Central Supervisory Union
completes a $90,000 remediation project, which included replaces carpets, the story stated.
According to the story, employees are being removed from the 126-year-old Pittsfield Town Hall as soon as possible because they have complained of sickness stemming from the mold and local health officials have recommended they leave.
The invasive mold has caused stains on carpets where water often puddles and has damaged Pittsfield town records dating back to 1781, the story noted.
There has been an increase in mold-related issues in the Northeast United States because of wetter-than-usual spring and summer seasons, the story added.
