JACKSON, TN — Jackson-Madison County school officials said that mold cleanup and air quality testing at Bemis Elementary School will be completed in time for teachers and students to return, according to the Jackson Sun.
Superintendent Nancy Zambito said parts of the building will be open today, and the whole building will be open on Thursday.
"Ameresco has specialized teams to clean up the mold," Zambito said.
"They are conducting air quality control tests to make sure the building is ready. We''re not expecting any problems," Zambito noted.
Zambito said officials believe the mold problem in Bemis was caused by humidity being out of balance in the building.
"We''re not expecting any problems in the building that would affect the start of school," Zambito added.
