PORTSMOUTH, NH — Dondero School will dedicate a memorial bench to a former custodian who passed away shortly after retiring from the school, according to the Seacoast.

David Ronald Cook, who was 65 when he died, had served as a custodian at Portsmouth schools for nearly 25 years, the article stated.

"He was loved, loved, loved by the kids and the staff," said Dondero paraprofessional Terry Eaton.

"He was the most accommodating, sweet man. Always had a smile on his face. There was never a job that was too annoying or too difficult," Eaton added.

According to the article, donations were collected from staff and the community to buy a granite bench in Cook''s name.
