BUTLER, IN — A maintenance worker was killed after falling 100 feet off of the roof he was cleaning, according to the Chicago Tribune.
David W. Gingery, 27, was cleaning the roof of Steel Dynamics when the structure collapsed, sending Gingery into a freefall, the article stated.
According to the article, Gingery was wearing a safety harness, but it failed, snapping under his weight.
Steel Dynamics and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are looking in to the death, the article noted.
