CHICAGO — The American Society for Health Care Environmental Services (
ASHES) developed a Certified Health Care Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) study group for those interested in pursuing the certification, and a supervisor course targeting the development of critical skills for department supervisors or new managers, according to a press release.
The CHESP study group is a six-week program where CHESP candidates or potential candidates will collaborate, interact, review material and ultimately help each other prepare for the exam, the release stated.
The supervisory course is a ten-week program that covers areas such as: Environmental sanitation, microbiology, management and distribution of work, customer service, quality assurance and provides program participants the opportunity to collaborate, interact and complete a targeted final project, the release noted.
The CHESP study group is available for members of
ASHES at $99. The non-member price is $135. The supervisor course is available for ASHES members at $189. The non-members price is $239, the release added.
According to the release, all reading materials are included in the price of the courses.
