Brice, who has arrived at Cary Elementary School at 6 a.m. every school day for the better part of three decades, swabs floors, sweeps and mops halls and scrapes gum off of desks without complaint, the story stated.
Notorious for his practical jokes, Brice, who says he does not regret a single day he has spent with the students and staff of Cary Elementary, is set to retire Friday, October 30, 2009, the story noted.
Brice said: "They say I liven things up. If I had to do it all over again, I guess I''d do it. I never thought about doing something else for a living."
According to the story, Brice took less than 10 sick days in his 33-year tenure with Cary Elementary.
Brice, who says the worst part of his job was shoveling snow in winter months, is sad about retiring, but happy because he now has more time to spend with two of his loves: His wife and his cars, the story added.
