BROOKLYN, NY — A New York bowling alley has set itself apart as a one-of-a-kind establishment, according to Green Building Elements.

Brooklyn Bowl isn''t just a bowling alley, but an entertainment venue that hosts music and comedy shows, the article noted.

According to the article, Brooklyn Bowl is also able to boast the fact that the bowling alley is the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified establishment of its kind.

"Building on the long-standing tradition of the Wetlands Preserve, Brooklyn Bowl is committed to sustainable development and LEED certification," said owners Charles Ryan and Peter Shapiro.

Some of the key factors that earned Brooklyn Bowl their LEED certification included 100 percent wind powered electricity, efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units, planting trees and the use of bike racks, the article stated.
