CONCORD, NH — A uniform rental company has agreed to pay a fine for emitting pollutants without a proper permit, according to the New Hampshire Business Review.
The company, Alltex Uniform Rental Service Inc. and its parent company, G&K Services, will pay a penalty of nearly $65,000 along with a "supplemental environmental project," the article stated.
According to the article, the project will replace outdated wood stoves and install equipment to remove approximately 20 tons of emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) per year.
An inspection in 2008 and subsequent testing in 2009 revealed that the facility had the potential to emit 50 tons of VOCs a year into the air, the article noted.
