KALISPELL, MT — Mold and bedbugs are no match for Russ the Labrador, according to theDaily Inter Lake.
Russ is the key player in a new business, Snoops K-9 Detection Service
, the article noted.
Owners Chris Fansler and Cliff and Dani Gordon use the trained scent-detection dog to determine if bedbugs or mold are present in a home or business, the article stated.
Fansler and the Gordons spent four days in training with Russ before opening their business: The training is similar to what a police drug-detection dog undergoes, the article added.
According to the article, Russ can inspect a large room in three to five minutes and is accurate 90 percent of the time: It would take a person between one and two hours to do that same inspection with a 30 percent accuracy rating.
