MEMPHIS, TN — Kruger Inc., a Canadian maker of tissue and paper towels, is seeking a $45.4 million tax break to induce a $300 million expansion, according to The Commercial Appeal.
If approved by the Industrial Development Board (IDB), the tax incentives would spread tax savings over 15 years and generate nearly $56 million in revenues, the article stated.
According to the article, Kruger would spend nearly $64 million for a new building and related improvements and an excess of $248 million for a paper machine and converting equipment.
The expansion would create nearly 100 new jobs in the area, including at least 20 maintenance workers, the article noted.
