The makers of Brawny Industrial wipers have kicked off the third annual Great American Worker contest, an event saluting the efforts of the unsung heroes of American industry by recognizing their dedication to safety, productivity and community involvement.

This year's Ron Dougherty Award, the most prestigious service award annually bestowed by the Broome-Tioga Board of Cooperative Educational Services, was awarded to Floyd Ross, a custodian as BOCES' West Learning Center.
