This position will work collaboratively with employees and supervisors to evaluate, improve and correct environmental compliance, laboratory safety, and hazardous materials issues in accordance with federal, state and local environmental and occupational safety regulations.
The applicant will manage the university''s Environmental Management System and conduct periodic inspections to ensure compliance, identify compliance issues, and provide technical and expert advice to university administrators in matters pertaining to environmental issues.
This position will serve as the university''s chemical hygiene officer and will participate in laboratory safety inspections, development and revisions to laboratory safety manuals and SOPs, and provide technical and expert advice on issues related to chemical safety issues.
A bachelor''s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, other related scientific field (i.e., chemistry engineering, life science, etc.), or equivalent combination of education and work experience is required.
