DENTON, TX — A cleaning company has reversed the fortunes of school custodians, according to the Denton Record Chronicle.
Thirty janitors who are being laid off by the Denton County School District will be leaving with a job offer, the article stated.
According to the article, SSC Service Solutions have offered district custodians, who are being laid off due to budgetary cuts, the opportunity to do essentially the same jobs for the same pay.
"Our tradition of sustaining a learning environment extends to all of our people, and we hope our new associates will enjoy the opportunity to grow with us," said Bill Steward, the SSC''s K-12 school division president, in a prepared statement.
The employees will complete their final day with the district June 30 and pick up with SSC the following day, in many cases working in the same location, the article noted.
