LONG BEACH, CA — A janitorial firm accused of failing to pay subcontractors enough to comply with wage laws has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by the state, according to the Press-Telegram.
Corporate Building Services Inc., co-owned by Bruce Kim and Joong Kim, agreed to pay $122,000 to compensate about 100 workers, the article noted.
According to the Department of Industrial Relations, Corporate Building Services Inc. did not pay subcontractors enough to comply with all applicable laws and regulations and, as a result, the subcontractors failed to pay overtime wages and misclassified over 100 janitors as independent contractors, the article stated.
