LONG BEACH, CA — A janitorial firm accused of failing to pay subcontractors enough to comply with wage laws has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by the state, according to the Press-Telegram.
Corporate Building Services Inc
., co-owned by Bruce Kim and Joong Kim, agreed to pay $122,000 to compensate about 100 workers, the article noted.
According to the Department of Industrial Relations
, Corporate Building Services Inc. did not pay subcontractors enough to comply with all applicable laws and regulations and, as a result, the subcontractors failed to pay overtime wages and misclassified over 100 janitors as independent contractors, the article stated.
