INDIANAPOLIS — A Wayne Township School custodian has been accused of bringing a gun and drugs to Ben Davis University High School, according to RTV-TV.
Richard Danz, a custodian at the high school, was arrested after administrators reported that Danz was carrying a gun on school property, the article stated.
According to the article, Danz denied having the gun and allowed police to search his truck where a loaded .40 caliber handgun and marijuana were found.
Indiana law allows employees to bring guns to work and to store them in their cars; however, schools are found on a list of places exempt from this law, the article noted.
Danz has been placed on unpaid leave pending the results of an official investigation, the article added.
