VENTURA, CA — A judge sentenced a Nordhoff High School janitor to six months in jail for selling marijuana to students, according to the Ventura County Star.
Ventura County Superior Court Judge Edward Brodie gave Brandon Hoffmeister a 28-day credit for jail time served and good behavior and ordered him to stay away from Nordhoff High School, the article stated.
Authorities said Hoffmeister''s arrest on March 18 came after a Ventura County Sheriff''s Department deputy working as a school resource officer saw an empty janitor''s cart near a classroom.
When the deputy went into the classroom, she saw a thick cloud of smoke, noticed the odor of marijuana and saw Hoffmeister with three male students, the article noted.
According to the article, Hoffmeister ran from the classroom but was found on campus a short time later and placed under arrest.
