CHICAGO — Members of the professional cleaning industry are being reminded that they have until the end of this month to comment on the U.S. Green Building Council''s (USGBC) revisions to Version 3 Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance (LEED-EBOM), according to a press release.
LEED-EBOM is designed to help building owners and managers measure building operations, including cleaning and maintenance issues, with the goal of maximizing efficiency while minimizing the environmental impact of the facility, the release stated.
According to the release, many of the revisions currently being reviewed by USGBC will likely become prerequisites, scheduled to be put into place in the next 12 to 24 months.
To assist the industry, The Ashkin Group has developed a special website allowing cleaning professionals to comment on the suggested revisions, the release noted.
