MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Many employees of ROC Commercial Cleaning have quit their jobs after learning that federal immigration officials are looking at employment records, according to the Star Tribune.

One employee has speculated that nearly the entire workforce could walk off the job, the article noted.

ROC Commercial Cleaning is one of nine companies being subjected to an immigration audit, part of the Obama administration''s national crackdown on employers using undocumented workers, the article stated.

According to the article, the increase in workplace inspections is a growing source of frustration for employers.

"Either way, it creates heartache for the employees, heartache for the employer, and it doesn''t do communities or the economies any good either," said Bill Blazar, senior vice president of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce.

"I think this is evidence for further need of comprehensive immigration reform," Blazar added.
