IICRC Issues RFP for Research Project to Test Air Filtration System
Seeks product verification testing to support S500 standard
VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a research project to test the effectiveness of air filtration devices.
The IICRC S500 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration, which contains practical standards for water damage restoration, currently includes language allowing the use of air filtration devices during the drying and mitigation process. The practice is gaining wide acceptance within the cleaning and restoration community, though questions have been raised about whether or not the use of air filtration devices in this manner is warranted. To ensure IICRC standards reflect the most recent reliable industry data, the IICRC Standards Committee wants technical information regarding the efficiency of air filtration devices as a particulate collection device.
Interested parties may visit the IICRC website for more information about the RFP and to download a copy. Proposals are due July 9, 2010 by 5 p.m. Pacific time and should be submitted to Tom Hill, Executive Administrator, at firstname.lastname@example.org
