— Hotel housekeepers are receiving special training in an effort to prevent terrorist attacks, according to KMGH-TV
According to the story, terrorists often target hotels, like in the 2008 attack on a Mumbai hotel that killed over 100 people.
Increased security measures include training housekeepers to look for anything suspicious, including chemical residue on countertops, the story stated.
According to the story, housekeeping staff would not go through guest drawers or luggage.
Christine O''Donnell of the Colorado Hotel and Lodging Association
said: "It''s more of a looking at the room, is there anything unusual here without violating the privacy of the guest, which is a really fine balance."
In addition to protecting against terrorist attacks, the hotels also hope the training will prevent other security issues such as methamphetamine manufacturing and peephole voyeurs, the story added.
