DOTHAN, AL — Betty Reynolds takes pride in her work, according to the Dothan Eagle.

A housekeeper at Flowers Hospital, Reynolds makes sure patient rooms are spotless, and the occupants get what they need from her, whether it''s a word of encouragement or a stuffed kitten so they won''t miss a family pet as much, the article stated.

Known throughout the hospital as Miss Betty, this unassuming housekeeper is not a nurse or a doctor, but she plays an important role as a caregiver and serves as an inspiration, the article noted.

According to the article, Reynolds'' gift for connecting with people is the reason she was recently recognized as a Hospital Hero by the Alabama Hospital Association.

In its eighth year, the Hospital Hero program honors the dedication of employees while also highlighting health care careers, the article added.
