Jewel Radcliffe, who became a custodian in 1984 after holding various positions with the university, was a member of the Staff Employees Council
(SEC) and served on many committees
, including: Council’s Benefits; Classified Merit; Awards Luncheon; Open House; Student Services Food; and several other notable committees, the story stated.
According to the story, Radcliffe received the Administration and Finance’s Outstanding Service Award in 1996 and was honored with the Classified Employee of the Year award in 2005.
Radcliffe, who plans to visit the campus a few times a month, will continue being a part of the Luncheon Committee, the Open House Committee and the Student Services Food Committee, the story noted.
There is a well-known saying among the staff at the university: If you want something done and done well, ask Jewell, the story added.
Radcliffe said: "I’ve had more fun than anyone. I got to see everyone and I got to know everyone. I’ve got to come in late and sleep in. It’s ideal. I’ve had a good time with everything I’ve done and everyone I’ve met is memorable."
