LOUISVILLE, KY - Local student athletes, parents and coaches spent Friday evening and Sunday morning cleaning up Churchill Downs in light of the annual Kentucky Derby event, according to the The News-Enterprise.
Cleaning jobs during the fundraiser included clearing bags of litter from assigned sections of seating as well as vacuuming, sweeping and emptying trash cans on four floors, reported the story.
The two days of work earned the teams from $1,475 to $4,000 and an expected more than $6,000 combined for the Central Hardin girls'' and boys'' soccer teams, according to coaches and booster club presidents.
