SPRINGFIELD, MO — The Grainger Foundation has donated nearly $53,000 for Joplin relief, according to the Springfield News-Leader.
The check, intended to assist the residents of Joplin and neighboring communities affected by devastating tornados, was presented to the Greater Ozarks Regional Chapter of the American Red Cross, the article stated.
According to the article, Grainger also donated a separate $5,000 check for training by the Greater Ozarks Red Cross Chapter.
"We have a lot of customers in the Joplin area, including St. John''s Hospital," said Michael Riley, Grainger branch manager in Springfield.
"This is a way to support our customers and their community," Riley added.
