ATLANTA — Winter Gardens Elementary School in Lakeside, California, received a brand new playground on December 7, 2010, according to a press release.

The state-of-the-art play area is part of the efforts of more than 500 volunteers from the Georgia-Pacific Professional business team, the local community and organizers from KaBOOM!, a non-profit dedicated to providing play areas for children, the release stated.

"Georgia-Pacific Professional takes pride in giving back to the community and providing our employees an opportunity to help others," said Bill Sleeper, president of Georgia-Pacific Professional.

"We had a wonderful time working with volunteers and KaBOOM! to provide the students of Winter Gardens Elementary with a safe play space they will be able to enjoy for years to come," Sleeper added.

According to the release, the brand new 5,280-square-foot playground was built from scratch by hundreds of volunteers from Georgia-Pacific Professional and KaBOOM! in just one day.

The facility is fully equipped and includes features such as a super dome, slither slide, climbing wall and a swing set, the release added.
