RINCON, GA — The United Way of the Coastal Empire got a big boost recently from Georgia-Pacific employees at the Savannah River Mill at the company''s annual fundraising rally, according to the Savannah Morning News.
The event, held in the parking lot at the mill plant centered around a medieval "Knights of the United Way" theme, and not only served as a way to raise funds for United Way but also as a morale booster and team-building exercise for company employees, the article stated.
"When it comes to community enrichment, our United Way partnership is a critical part of our investment efforts," said Georgia-Pacific spokeswoman Carrie Thompson.
"We''ve continued to invest in and support this partnership in a way that reflects its importance," Thompson added.
