Friday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: One of the colleges that I clean has a lot of high spots on the VCT floor. After burnishing the floor with a 28" propane machine using a blue burnishing pad from Pioneer Eclipse, I see a lot of burned spots on the floor. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?
1) Use a less aggressive pad.
2) Keep the burnisher moving faster to lessen the time any high point is subjected to pad friction.
3) Use any adjustment the machine may have to lessen the pad pressure on the floor.
