Friday''s Ask the Experts question from a cleaning professional on the International Custodial Advisors Network (ICAN) "Ask the Experts" page: I have some terrazzo floors that have years of finish buildup. I have used some of the best stripper on the market with the most aggressive pads but still cannot get this finish off without multiple (eight or more) passes.
It is so old that it is yellow and cracked. It does come off with a scraper but it is such a large area that it would take a long time. I don''t mind taking the time but wonder if there is a better/faster/more efficient way.
The answer:
With so many coats of finish built up over the years, patience is your best ally on this floor.
Stripper can only chemically soften so many layers before it is spent, used up. If you are removing 60 coats of finish at six coats per solution ... — Lynn E. Krafft, ICAN/ATEX editor
