FORT WAYNE, IN — After a drawn-out dispute over procedure and how to award contracts, the Fort Wayne City Council finally approved a janitorial contract, reported The Journal Gazette.
After Ciocca Cleaning and Restoration was awarded janitorial services at the new government building, another janitorial company employed by the city, Executive Management Services, disputed that they hadn''t heard about the contract, the article stated.
"This seemed to be disjointed," said Dave Bego, owner of Executive Management Services.
The council eventually agreed on a new process, which allows them to approve contracts slightly faster, changing from a super-majority based ruling to a simple unanimous voting method, the article reported.
