Former maintenance worker convicted

BRONX, NY — A Bronx jury has convicted a former city janitor of murdering one and wounding three others, according to the New York Post.

Paulino Valenzuela, 48, will face a sentence of 25 years to life for his attack on his former employer, Audely Bent, 59, after the loss of his job, the article noted.

Valenzuela, who had been fired in 2005 for a series of on-the-job indiscretions, filed a federal discrimination suit against the River Bay Corporation, claiming he had been fired for no reason, the article stated.
According to the article, when the suit was dismissed in court, Valenzuela returned to his former workplace and opened fired.
Valenzuela later turned himself in and confessed to the crimes, the article added.
