ALBERTA, CANADA — Despite the warm weather most are enjoying, health officials are warning that flu season is not yet over, according to the Prairie Post.
With mild winter weather, Cypress Health staff has not seen so many cases of influenza around November and December than they would normally experience, but that has not been the situation in March, the article stated.
"We are now starting to see cases of influenza," said Consulting Medical Health Officer Dr. David Torr.
"We certainly have communities within our region that are starting to show significant numbers of respiratory illness and we''ve confirmed many of those cases as actual influenza," Torr added.
According to the article, people should still be taking precautions against this seasonal illness, despite the warming temperatures.
