PAULSBORO, NJ — The Paulsboro U.S. Post Office has been temporarily closed due to water damage, according to the Gloucester County Times.
Recent heavy rains and floods have led to water seeping in to the basement, the article stated.
According to the article, there is no water anywhere beyond the basement, but officials closed the building as a precaution.
"We don''t want to take any chances," said U.S. Postal Service (USPS) spokesman Ray Daiutolo, Sr.
"Closing is important to preserve the integrity and environment of the building," Daiutolo, Sr. added.
The USPS facility management firm will now assess the building in case of long-term problems that could have any impact, the article noted.
