LOUISVILLE, KY — In helping a friend in need, Louisville elementary students are learning the true meaning of Christmas, according to WHAS-TV.
With all the material temptations that are foisted on us day after day of the holiday season, it can be hard to teach children what’s really important about this time of year, the article stated.
According to the article, the students are spending their time making Christmas cards to cheer up a member of their school that has been absent since July.
Mr. Billy was a custodian at the school until he was diagnosed with Lymphoma, the article noted.
To show Mr. Billy just how much he was missed, the students Christmas caroled at his home and delivered their homemade cards, learning in the process that it is better to give than to receive, the article added.
