PHILADELPHIA —The EcoLogo Program, a third-party, multi-attribute eco-labeling program from TerraChoice Environmental Marketing, has announced a final 15-day review phase for its standard to address instant hand antiseptic products, a new product category for EcoLogo, according to a press release.
According to the release, this new standard will allow purchasers to select hand sanitizing products that are environmentally-friendly and have reduced health impacts.
EcoLogo Program Executive Director Scot Case said: "The purpose of this final review is to provide stakeholders with the opportunity to submit final comments. Once the final draft is approved and published, clients may then apply to have their products certified against this standard."
The EcoLogo Program intends to restrict the use of EcoLogo-certified instant hand antiseptic products to health care and food service facilities as well as all other types of facilities that are not a personal residence, the release stated.
The final review phase began on January 19 and all comments must be received by February 2, the release added.
