WEST PITTSON, PA — The hundreds of homeowners affected by the historic Northeast flooding this summer are all playing the waiting game while their properties dry out, according to The Times-Tribune.
Those unable to hire a professional disaster remediation company are finding that the mold is far outgrowing their fruitless drying capabilities, the story stated.
Those fortunate enough to hire professionals are finding their homes drying quickly, but their savings are washing away, too, the story noted.
Homeowner Trent Grove said, "We had to drain our savings and borrow $5,000."
Reconstruction cannot begin until a structure is completely dry and free of mold, the story added.
