Ken Larsen, CR, WLS Appointed New Instructor of RIA’s Certified Restorer Program

Wood Dale, IL – Disaster Kleenup International, LLC, North America’s largest disaster restoration contracting organization, today announced that its Business Development Director, Ken Larsen, CR #250, WLS #24, has been appointed by the Restoration Industry Association (RIA) as a new Certified Restorer® (CR) Instructor.

The Certified Restorer certification is the highest level certification available within the restoration industry. With the retirement this year of lead instructor Martin L. King, Larsen was among the three industry professional selected to teach the CR Program. The new instructors are working with RIA’s Director of Training and Education, Cynthia Hereth, to enhance the overall certification program experience for the 2011 Candidates.

Some of the CR Certification changes include: expanded prerequisite requirements; an upgraded curriculum for the overall course of study; a revised CR Candidate manual and Study Guide; expanded online learning courses (which will be available in October 2011); and upgraded curriculum instruction during the final CR Prep Course.

“RIA is extremely pleased to have such knowledgeable instructors with so much collective experience. Martin King has given this program an excellent foundation, and these instructors are committed to retooling and improving the overall certification program,” said Hereth. “The quality of instruction will be phenomenal, and we are anticipating a record number of CR candidates this year.”

The Certified Restorer Prep Course will be held at Disaster Kleenup International (DKI) in Chicago, IL, from November 7-11, 2011. The CR exam will be administered on Friday, November 11.
