STURTEVANT, WI — Diversey, Inc. announced the delivery and installation of a 400-kilowatt fuel cell from UTC Power, a United Technologies Corporation company, at its main headquarters building, according to a press release.
It is estimated the fuel cell will generate more than 40 percent of the building''s electricity and 75 percent of its heat, further reducing the company''s carbon emissions by 3,365 metric tons per year, which is equivalent to taking 685 cars off the road, the release stated.
The fuel cell is expected to be fully operational by the first quarter of 2011, the release noted.
"The fuel cell is another significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to make our facilities as sustainable as possible," said Diversey Chairman S. Curtis Johnson.
"Our experience in reducing the environmental impact of our operations further demonstrates the power of sustainability in driving business results," Johnson added.
