RAMSEY, NJ — Custodians and maintenance workers in the Ramsey School District will be able to keep their jobs, according to the Ramsey Suburban News.

"There will be no outsourcing of custodial staff," Board of Education President John Nunziata announced at a meeting on Tuesday, March 15.

The announcement ends questions regarding the fate of district custodians after the board unanimously approved a motion to begin investigating outsourcing options, the article stated.

Previously, board officials had estimated the district might be able to save $1 million over the next two years if it outsourced custodial services, the article noted.

According to the article, while the custodians still need to vote on a contract with the district, all parties seem to be in agreement with the terms being proposed.
