CINCINNATI — xpedx''s Cincinnati distribution center has achieved a significant safety milestone by surpassing five years without an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable incident, according to a press release.
An OSHA recordable incident is a work-related accident that results in the use of prescription medication, medical treatment beyond first aid, loss of consciousness, days away from work, restricted work or transfer to another job, the release stated.
"Working without a recordable incident for more than five years is a tremendous accomplishment that requires the active participation of every team member," said Chris Baum, general manager of xpedx Cincinnati.
"We take our motto of ''Start Safe/End Safe'' very seriously and I look forward to continuing our safe work environment for many more years," Baum added.
According to the release, the Cincinnati team attributes their safety success to education and training, a focus on housekeeping, safety audits and, most importantly, employee engagement and determination in making their facility safe.
