POTTSGROVE, PA — District custodians join other district employees in a budget saving pay freeze, according to The Mercury.
The Pottsgrove School District became the first in Montgomery County to implement a district-wide pay freeze, the article stated.
According to the article, district taxpayers will save nearly $40,000 thanks to the custodians accepting the pay freeze.
"I am pleased to see all of our employee groups pull together in these difficult economic times to preserve programs for our students," said school board President Michael Neiffer.
The pay freezes allow the district to keep many programs that were on the chopping block including elementary clubs, after-school tutoring and mid-day kindergarten bus routes, the article noted.
