MINNEAPOLIS — The local labor union has filed a grievance in protest of the move to "team cleaning," according to the Minnesota Daily.

Beginning in August, the University of Minnesota''s (UM) facilities management will switch to team cleaning, a move that many custodians are not happy with, the article stated.

According to the article, the university''s custodians take pride in keeping their own areas clean and are not looking forward to the new system.

The switch to team cleaning comes in advance of budget cuts as a way to maintain cleaning standards with a smaller staff, the article noted.
