SEATTLE — In May, a Seattle TV station aired hidden camera footage that allegedly showed a Leschi Elementary custodian bullying children on the playground, according to the Seattle Weekly.
The custodian’s defenders filed a complaint against the station with the Washington News Council, claiming custodian Chester Harris was actually breaking up a fight, the article stated.
According to the article, the mother of the boy Harris allegedly grabbed went on to thank the custodian for keeping her son out of trouble.
In a letter to the station, the International Union of Operating Engineers, to which Harris belongs, claims that Michelle Ruiz, the mother of the child, had informed KIRO of these circumstances before it ran its original story, the article noted.
