MECHANICSBURG, PA — A custodian at Green Ridge Elementary School has been nominated as a Cumberland Valley School District "Star," according to the Patriot-News.
Merv Madsen was unanimously nominated by the elementary school staff, the story stated.
Madsen said: "They told me it was unanimous vote except for a couple of fifth-grade teachers. They jokingly said they asked for a recount. They like to get me going."
Madsen is one of 12 in the district who will be recognized by the Cumberland Valley School District Eagle Foundation at an April 17 recognition dinner, the story noted.
Madsen was selected for the honor because of his continued commitment to enriching the lives of students and for being a positive role model for the community, the story added.
