PARKERSBURG, WV — On Friday, head custodian Kevin Haught was welcomed back to Worthington Elementary School by students and staff alike, according to the News and Sentinel.

Haught was deployed in December of 2010 as part of the Wheeling-based 1st Battalion, 150th Aviation unit for a year-long tour of duty in Kosovo, the article stated.

According to the article, Haught returned to the States in December and, on Friday, resumed his position as head custodian at Worthington.

Throughout his deployment, students hung yellow ribbons around the school, while staff members wore yellow ribbons in Haught''s honor, the article noted.

Students also sent letters of encouragement, drawings and care packages, the article added.

"It means a lot to me. The support that I got while I was there was excellent. The yellow ribbons are still hanging here from when I left. It''s pretty special," said Haught.
