ST. JOSEPH, MO — Diane Thee, a woman defined by her kindness, has been twice recognized by the Lafayette High School senior class for her kindness and dedication, according to the St. Joseph News-Press.
After 20 years of service to the high school as a custodian, Thee will retire at the end of the week, the article stated.
According to the article, Thee was escorted in to a packed gym by two students where she was given flowers and received a standing ovation from faculty, staff and students four times.
"We''ve had a lot of people come and go at Lafayette,” Dr. Tyran Sumy, Lafayette principal, told the crowded gym. "But I don''t think any have touched our hearts as much as Diane."
