JACKSON, NJ — A custodian at the Rosenauer Elementary School who left work early Monday was later charged with possession of alcohol on school property, according to the Asbury Park Press.

Christine Slattery, 44, a township resident, was additionally charged with possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, the article stated.

She has also been suspended from her job, a full-time position, without pay, the article noted.

According to the article, Brian Evans, the custodian supervisor for the Jackson Township Board of Education, told police Slattery left work earlier in the day because she was sick.

Evans said he was walking out of the school later in the day and saw Slattery walking up to enter the school: Evans said Slattery was "extremely intoxicated" and he called police, the article added.
