WATERVLIET, MI — A custodian with Watervliet Schools died last week after falling on the job, according to The Herald-Palladium.
Phil Dillenbeck, who worked in the district for 31 years, sustained severe injuries after he suffered a slip and fall while working in the high school, the article stated.
According to the article, Dillenbeck was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center for treatment, but passed away Monday night.
"We are saddened and shocked at his passing, and our thoughts are with the Dillenbeck family," said Superintendent Kevin Schooley in a written statement.
“Our school community and the community at large will miss Phil''s presence, especially at all those evening events. Our thoughts and sincere condolences go out to Phil''s children and extended family. We hope to have a ceremony later this fall recognizing Phil''s wonderful contributions to Watervliet Public Schools," Schooley added.
