LAWRENCE, KS — Lead custodian Mike White has been hard at work for several hours before most people have even contemplated their first cup of coffee, according to the LJ World.

On most days, White has swept the gym floors, fixed a lock on a gate at the football field, cleaned up the cafeteria after breakfast and mended a rail on the stairs, all before the early hour of 9:30 a.m., the article stated.
According to the article, White, 48, has spent the past eight years moving furniture, washing windows and setting up and tearing down sporting events for Lawrence Public Schools.
"He''s kind of the glue of the building that holds things together," said Tom Bracciano, division director of facilities and maintenance for the district.
Six months after White started at Lawrence High School, a lead night custodian position opened up and White took over the 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. shift overseeing a staff of six to seven, the article noted.
When South Middle School was in need of a lead custodian of their own, Principal Will Fernandez already knew who he wanted to take over the position, as White''s reputation preceded him, the article added.
