Custodian charged with theft

NORTH LIBERTY, IA — A former city custodian has been charged with stealing money from a city office, according to Eastern Iowa News Now.

Ronald G. Dighton, 49, has been charged with fourth-degree theft in connection to several incidents from the North Liberty City Hall, the article stated.

According to the article, after employees noticed several front office thefts, security cameras and motion sensors were installed.

On Tuesday morning, an alarm was activated and cameras caught Dighton behind the counter off-hours, the article noted.
