Custodian charged with stealing cash

MEADVILLE, PA — A man hired to clean the Pennsylvania State Police station in Vernon Township has been charged with stealing cash from fundraising envelopes, according to the Erie Times-News.

Clifford G. Seibel Jr., 38, was arraigned before Linesville District Judge Rita Marwood Monday night on theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property charges: He is free on $10,000 unsecured bond, the article stated.

Police have accused Seibel of stealing $183 from various fundraising envelopes that troopers posted at the station, the article noted.

According to the article, Police said Seibel was caught with some of the stolen money on Monday afternoon.
